Ltd.
The lenses are equipped with a powerful stepping motor (STM) along with autofocus (AF) and diaphragm mechanism, focus-breathing reduction features, an easy-to-operate control ring and a retractable-lens mechanism providing users with an effortless and comfortable image and movie recording experience. The adoption of the STM with AF mechanism enables quiet and accurate AF control with both still-images and movie recordings, while the diaphragm mechanism enables stable exposure for continuous shooting.
Furthermore, the in-lens optical Vibration Reduction (VR) function reduces image-blur. In combination with the Z 50, attain stable performance when shooting moving subjects panning shots by activating the “SPORT” mode. The focus-breathing reduction ensures minimal shifting of the angle of view when adjusting focus during high speed continuous shooting or movie recording enabling you to have that flawless movie or photoshoot.
Ensuring remarkable agility for faster shooting even when sudden shutter opportunities arise, users can also swiftly change the settings either from the control ring or through a dedicated focus mode switch that allows for manual focus operation to achieve smooth focus transitions. The buttonless retractable-lens mechanism further allows the extension and retraction of these lenses with ease.

NIKKOR is Nikon's brand of photographic lenses. The NIKKOR name arose from adding "r", a common practice in the naming of photographic lenses at the time the name was established, to "Nikko", the Romanized abbreviation for Nippon Kogaku K.K., the original name used when the company was established. In November 2018, Nikon announced its milestone achievement of 110 million in total production of NIKKOR lenses for Nikon interchangeable lens cameras.
